Safe Operating of Golf Carts in Costa Rica

Area of Travel

Golf carts must be operated like vehicles, adhering to all traffic signs and laws. Driving on the beach or through the rivers is strictly prohibited. Violators will face a hefty fine of $1500 for any driving infractions.

Safe Parking

Always remove the key from the ignition when parking. Each cart uses a unique key, but we still advise securing your belongings and avoiding leaving valuables in the cart. Locking storage is available, but its use is at your own risk.

Passenger Safety

Maximum 4 passengers per cart. Back passengers are seated facing backward, so extra awareness is important. Communicate clearly before starting or stopping and use caution on bumps or uneven roads to avoid losing a passenger. Riders in the rear should use the handles for added stability during the ride.

Safety Considerations

Carts do not have seatbelts, so drive cautiously and keep all passengers seated while the cart is moving. Each cart is equipped with lights and turn signals for safe travel, especially at night. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and may not operate a cart under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Road Conditions

Please be cautious while navigating the dusty and rough roads in Samara. Golf carts have limited clearance and suspension, so take care to ensure a smooth and safe ride. Your safety is our priority, so drive slowly and watch for any obstacles.

Final Note

If we’ve missed anything, please remember that you are ultimately responsible for safe operation of the cart. Refer to your waiver for full details, and reach out anytime if you have questions, we’re here to help.
